There is no longer any reason to drive out of town for lab work, because Perry County Memorial has a fully equipped and expertly-staffed laboratory right on the premises. Turnaround time is fast, results are accurate, and most specimens never have to leave the hospital.

Perry County Memorial's lab offers an entire spectrum of outpatient testing services. They are available 24/7 to anyone with a doctor-prescribed lab order, even if the doctor is from out of town.

Departments include:

Chemistry - Testing for Diabetes, Cardiac Function, Cholesterol Levels, and Thyroid Studies to name a few.

Hematology/Coagulation - Blood Counts for Anemia Tests and Blood Thinner Levels.

Microbiology - Tests that ensure proper antibiotic treatments are being prescribed for infections.

Blood Banking - Testing for Pre-Natal (pregnancy) workups and Transfusion Therapy, for bleeding problems, chemotherapy patients needing blood, and trauma.

Urinalysis - Testing to provide information regarding kidney function and bladder infections.
